I love smoothies because they're an easy grab&go filling healthy meal or snack. One of my favourites is the green smoothie because it's refreshing, a great immune booster and puts my mind at ease knowing that am having this one meal jam-packed with all ingredients rich with the right kind of vitamins and nutrients.
You can whip yourself one at home or if you just don't have the time, then buy one at any health food spot. Spinach King Cafe located at Khayelitsha mall is one these spots, they're all about promoting healthy food eating habits with menu items that include anything from freshly made smoothies, spinach muffins to spinach bread. I had one of their spinach fritters and they were crazy delicious 😋🤤 and I'll sure be trying to make them for myself at home.

I like to incorporate spinach into a smoothie, so here’s the recipe for you to try out:
Homemade Green Smoothie
2 cups spinach
1 leaf kale
half a cucumber
1 handful parsley
2 stalks celery
Juice of freshly squeezed half a lemon
1 granny smith apple
1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
2 cups water, add more water if the smoothie is too thick
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth, enjoy🤗
